Anna Liceica began training in her native Bucharest, Romania at the National Ballet School and, later, at the School of American Ballet in New York City, where she received the Mae L. Wein Award for Outstanding Promise. A prize winner at the Nureyev International Ballet Competition, and Maya Plisetskaya International Ballet Competition, Ms. Liceica danced with New York City Ballet, performing a full range of Balanchine repertoire, and then joined American Ballet Theatre, becoming a soloist and performing on the company's tours worldwide, in addition to appearing as a Guest Artist in the United States, Brazil, Japan, Russia, and Hungary.
