Dear Participants,

We are excited to be back for the 2020 Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition semi-final in Houston, TX . We are proud to be able to present performance and training opportunities for dancers from the greater Houston area, looking to compete in classical and contemporary dance performance, take master classes and become eligible to participate in the New York City Finals. We wish you the best of luck this season!

Wait List.

This venue is at capacity, and registration is now closed. We recommend that you consider registering for one of the semi-final venues that are currently still open.

If your preferred semi-final is closed, and if it is the only semi-final venue that you are able to attend, you may still register for the Wait List.  The Wait List operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, and entries are only moved from the Wait List to a confirmed registration list when and if space becomes available as a result of cancellation by another registrant, or due to additional time becoming available in the venue.  Please note – registering for the Wait List at any given venue does NOT guarantee you a place at semi-finals, and we ask that Wait List registrants do not submit payment. If and when space becomes available, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your participation in the semi-final, and at that point, payment will be due.

Here are some additional instructions to guide you through the Wait List registration process:

  1. Log in or create an account through DanceCompGenie
  2. Select ‘Add New Registration’
  3. The first page you will see is the ‘Who and Where’, please select ‘Wait List City’
  4. Continue through the registration until you have entered all of your solos and/or ensembles, then click ‘Save’
  5. Finally, a waiver will be sent to the email add

Once you register for the Wait List, it will take us some time to find a way to accommodate all wait list participants. We know that this is important to you and we are trying to find ways to allow more participants to attend, by adding time in the theater and studios and looking for alternative solutions. Most likely, we will be able to let you know about your registration within a few weeks, but in some cases, we will need to wait until the 8 week cut-off date for confirmed registrations, to find out if anyone had dropped out and additional space became available. We invite you to mark your preferred semi-final’s 8 week cut-off date in your calendar, so that if you haven’t heard from us yet, you may reconfirm your interest by emailing us at that point — and we will let you know whether space has opened up.

As always, please direct all additional questions to regional@yagp.org.

Thank you, The YAGP Team
