Dear participants in YAGP 2020 Toronto Semi-final,

In light of the most recent updates concerning preventative measures the local health authorities are recommending regarding COVID-19, we would like to update you on the additional precaution measures YAGP are taking to ensure the health and safety of our participants, families and teachers:

– The Awards Ceremony will be a FREE live-stream event on Instagram and Facebook – March 15th at 9 PM — with no live audience participation. – All Master Classes will be canceled. All Toronto participants will receive credit for master classes at the location of their choice in the 2021 season. – We will be increasing the breaks between competition categories to accommodate healthy social distancing practices. – We strongly advise all dancers, teachers, and parents to keep their time in the venue to a MINIMUM – and only for their own categories. – When in the auditorium, please follow healthy social distancing practices by not sitting too closely to other audience members. The recommended distance is at least 1 meter. – We also recommend healthy social distancing practices in the backstage areas, dressing rooms, and hallways. We are fortunate that this is a spacious venue where such practices are easy to implement.

For any participant who does not wish to attend this weekend’s Toronto Semi-Final, please contact regional@yagp.org to request an account credit for the 2021 Regional Season.

We ask all participants, parents and teachers to understand that this is a continually evolving situation. Please stay tuned for any updates on YAGP social media.

And please remember that YAGP is a caring community of dancers who love their art – so let’s not forget to treat each other as family. Instead of hugging or other contact-based forms of greeting each other, consider placing your hands on your heart and nodding, or just greeting each other with a smile. Your fellow dancers will certainly appreciate it.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in this challenging situation.
