Davidson Farias is a Swiss-Brazilian choreographer and ballet master who began his
dance training at Ballet Ana Araujo in São Paulo in the early 2000s. He began his
professional career in 2004 with the Cia de Dança de São José dos Campos, followed by
a two-year time at the Cisne Negro Dance Company in Brazil, which included
international tours in Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. He also performed with the
Companhia de Dança Siameses in São Paulo.
In 2009, Davidson joined the Tanz Luzerner Theater in Switzerland under the artistic
direction of Kathleen McNurney, where he performed in numerous original works during
his seven-year tenure, participating in tours to cities such as Belgrade, Den Haag, and
Antwerp. He had the opportunity to work alongside choreographers such as Patrick
Delcroix, George Reischl, Ken Ossola, Kinsun Chan, Andre Mesquita, Felix Landerer,
Cayetano Soto, and among others, taking on significant roles, including Romeo in
"Romeo & Juliet" by Matjash Mrozewski and Prince Desire in "Sleeping Beauty" by Stijn
Celis. He was also a guest artist at Konzert Theater Bern and the Zürich Opera House.
In 2016, Davidson transitioned its focus to choreography and dance education. He has
taught extensively, choreographed, and assisted at various institutions worldwide,
including Luzerner Theater, Ballet Zürich, Indiana University, Boris Eifman Dance
Academy, Tanzhaus Zürich, Codarts, the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, and
Szczecin Ballet Company, among many other respected institutions. His work has been
performed in diverse venues and festivals throughout Europe, Switzerland, Russia, and
the United States, including the Teatre Municipal de Girona and the KKL Concert Hall in
Lucerne.
In 2018, he furthered his education by earning a Master's Degree in Choreography from
the Zürich University of Arts. He was awarded for his "Transfigured Night" choreography
at the Szczecin International Choreography Competition in Poland. Besides, Davidson
was invited to serve as a Judge and master teacher at the prestigious YAGP - Youth
American Grand Prix Europe - Italy, joining an esteemed panel of judges from the
international ballet community. He is currently a Freelance Choreographer based in Berlin.
