Alison Stroming is a professional dancer, model, and entrepreneur. Born in Recife, Brazil
and raised in the heart of New York City, she started her formal ballet training at nine
years old at the School of American Ballet. After three years at SAB, Alison accepted a
full tuition scholarship to the JKO School at American Ballet Theatre where she
continued her studies. She spent four years in the professional division followed by a
year as a company member of ABT Studio Company.
Alison’s professional ballet career began with the Alberta Ballet in Canada where she
toured across the country and also performed as a soloist with recording artist Sarah
McLachlan in her Hope Rising! Concert. She then spent one season with Ballet San Jose
followed by four seasons with the Dance Theatre of Harlem dancing principal roles.
As a professional ballerina, she has performed across the United States and overseas in
Spain, Lithuania, Guatemala, Tel Aviv, Poland, Budapest, and Italy. Alison also had the
opportunity to perform with legend, Aretha Franklin, at the Kennedy Center in
Washington, DC for the Washington Performing Arts Foundation Gala. In 2011, Alison
starred in her first national ad campaign “Strength In Beauty, Beauty in Strength” with
Tumi Luggage and since then has been featured in national campaigns for Canon, Under
Armour, Free People Movement, Adidas, McDonalds, and American Eagle, which was
featured on Times Square billboards. She has been featured in several publications and
media including Marie Claire, BET, Popsugar, Interview, Nylon Magazine, Women’s
Health, and ELLE Magazine.
Alison now resides in Miami, FL and can be seen in projects for JLo, Mariah Carey,
Kendrick Lamar, Brent Faiyaz, and Kanye West. She was recently hired by Mattel to
dance all of their ballet animation for Barbie. In 2018, Alison launched her own
dancewear line, AS Dancewear, with focus on empowerment for dancers. AS Dancewear
can be found online and in dance boutique stores across the United States, Canada, and
Mexico. In addition to dance, Alison can be seen on the blue carpet for Fox TV as a guest
reporter for the hit tv show, “So You Think You Can Dance”. Alison currently teaches on
several dance competitions including Youth America Grand Prix and continues to guest
perform, teach, and choreograph for schools across the globe.
