Followed by post-performance dinner with the Guest Artists*“Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” is an annually sold-out, spectacular Gala performance, featuring the top winners of the YAGP international student ballet competition and world-renowned guest stars, including alumni from the world’s leading dance companies. Hailed by The New York Post as “the highlight of the New York ballet season,” the YAGP Gala gives the audience a unique chance to see some of the best professional dancers performing today (“STARS OF TODAY”) and the most promising young dance artists from all over the globe (“STARS OF TOMORROW”). This year’s all-star cast will feature Diana Vishneva and Marcelo Gomes; Daniiil Simkin and Anna Ol of Staatsballett Berlin. The program will include World Premiere choreography and performance by YAGP Alumna Lauren Lovette, of New York City Ballet, and a performance by Mariinsky Ballet’s rising stars Maria Khoreva and YAGP alum Victor Caixeta, and more. Following the Gala performance, patrons including guest artists will gather on the Koch Theatre promenade to enjoy dinner and dancing. The YAGP Gala “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” is a culmination of a week-long YAGP Final competition, with the participation of more than 1200 young dancers from over 40 countries. In addition to stage performances, finalists attend master classes, taught by the world renowned teachers, artists, and dance progressions; an educational symposium intended to teach aspiring dancers’ skills beyond the studio that will serve them throughout their careers; and a curated program of performances by pre-professional dance academies from around the world. See the future of dance! The FINAL ROUND – the culmination of the season-long competition – is an exciting chance for the general public to see the world’s most gifted young dancers in the Junior (12-14 years old) and Senior (15-19 years old) age divisions. They will perform one last time before winners and scholarship recipients are announced at the Awards Ceremony.

For the past 21 years, Youth America Grand Prix has been making it possible for talented young dancers from all around the world to study on scholarship at the world’s leading dance academies. In 2019, in celebration of its 20 th Anniversary Season, YAGP presented a special Gala performance featuring the students from some of its most renowned partner schools. Join us again this year as dancers including past YAGP Scholarship recipients perform works representing each institution’s style and artistic tradition, from beloved classics by Petipa and Ashton, to iconic contemporary works by Jean Christophe Maillot and Marco Goecke, and works by emerging choreographers like Jamar Roberts. Travel of world of dance in one spectacular performance!
