The 2015 Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow Gala will feature a night of thrilling performances by leading dancers from the world’s most prominent companies (Stars of Today—many of whom are YAGP alumni) alongside 2015 YAGP finalists in the audition process for scholarships (Stars of Tomorrow). The evening will feature the world premiere of Minuet in D Minor with choreography by Emery LeCrone, in addition to the New York premiere of Windy Sand with choreography by Alexei Kremnev, featuring an original score by Karen LeFrak and costumes designed by B Michael. Don’t miss this spectacular evening of dance! Following the performance, dancers, Artistic Directors, and guests will enjoy dinner and dancing at the Celebration on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater.

As the premier dance service organization, YAGP hosts an annual benefit performance every Spring in New York City, to raise funds in support of young dancers. The annually sold-out YAGP Gala performances serve as the organization’s largest fundraising effort, and offer a platform to highlight the rising stars of tomorrow, on par with more established dancers and world-renowned stars, in rare New York appearances. The YAGP Gala also provides audiences the opportunity to see innovative, world-premiere choreography, created especially for the occasion.

YAGP Galas have featured rare appearances by artists, including:

Polina Semionova (Berlin State Opera Ballet)
Denis Matvienko (The Mariinksy Ballet)
Natalia Osipova (Mikhailovsky Theatre St. Petersburg)
Ivan Vasiliev (Mikhailovsky Theatre St. Petersburg)

YAGP has also presented a number of dancers’ final appearances in New York, including:

Manuel Legris (Etoile Dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet)
Nikolai Tsiskaridze (Bolshoi Ballet)
Darcey Bussell (The Royal Ballet)

YAGP’s now widely acclaimed educational Gala series, “Legends In Dance”:

In 2012 featured Ballerina Assoluta, Natalia Makarova
In 2010 celebrated the career of Vladimir Vasiliev
In 2009 paid tribute to the renowned ballet teacher, Peter Pestov

YAGP established the Emerging Choreographer Series, to provide an opportunity for up-and-coming choreographers to present their work to an international dance community, on a prestigious stage. The choreographers showcased in the series have recently included:

Marcelo Gomes
Adam Hougland
Camille A. Brown
Susan Jaffe
Justin Peck

Benjamin Millepied, Christopher Wheeldon and Edwaard Liang have also created works for YAGP Galas.
