She has taught all levels of ballet and pointe technique, repertoire classes, conducting rehearsals for performances and teaching in the RWB School Professional Division’s Teacher Training Program.
Prior to being appointed Director of the school in 2004, Ms Minkhorst developed, pursued and implemented a supportive academic/dance structure with Winnipeg school divisions, middle schools and high schools. Her work resulted in the present model of the Ballet Academic Program and its academic partnerships, allowing the students to attain a strong academic education concurrently with their professional dance training. Ms. Minkhorst was also instrumental in creating the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s special program for boys, which currently provides training to more than 250 boys annually. She is in demand as a guest teacher and adjudicator for dance competitions across Canada, Europe and the United States.
