Dylan Gutierrez joined The Joffrey Ballet in 2009. Mr. Gutierrez was trained in Los Angeles under the direction of his mother, Andrea Paris-Gutierrez at the Los Angeles Ballet Academy. Mr. Gutierrez was a Music Center Spotlight awards semi-finalist in 2006 and placed in the top six at the Youth American Grand Prix finals in New York for three consecutive years. He was also an ABT National Training Scholar in 2004 and 2006. In 2006 he trained at The Royal Ballet School with a full tuition scholarship and sponsorship from HSBC, from which he graduated with Honours and received the Cyril Beaumont Award. Mr. Gutierrez performed lead roles in the Concerto Pas de deux by Kenneth MacMillan, Gallantries by David Bintley and Unwritten by Natalie Weir. The Pas de deux from Suite Classique by Petal Miller Ashmole was created on Dylan, and performed in Palermo, Sicily, Orange County, California, and Dresden, Germany. In 2008 Mr. Gutierrez was named one of two apprentices with the San Francisco Ballet and made his professional debut at the age of 18 in George Balanchine's The Four Temperaments. He also danced the Arabian and Mouse King in Helgi Tomasson's Nutcracker. During San Francisco Ballet's 2009 season he danced in Helgi Tomasson's Prism, Jerome Robbins' The Concert, George Balanchine's Stravinsky Violin Concerto, Jerome Robbins' West Side Story Suite and George Balanchine's Jewels. Since joining The Joffrey Ballet, Dylan Gutierrez has danced The Summer and Autumn Cavalier in Fredrick Ashton's Cinderella, the second Pas de deux in Gerald Arpino's Reflections, and Gerald Arpino's Suite Saint Sans Pas de deux. Dylan has also danced the Aria 2 Pas de deux in George Balanchine's Stravinsky Violin Concerto and The Usher in Jerome Robbin's The Concert. Both premiered in The Joffrey Ballet's All Stars season. In the Joffrey Ballet's 2011 gala he danced the Tchaikovsky pas de deux and in the final season of 2011 he danced Julia Adam's Night, and was the original in Edwaard Liang's Woven Dreams Trio. In Yuri Possokhov's Don Quixote he performed all 3 male lead roles, Don Quixote, Basilio, and Espada at the age of 21. He has danced the Nutcracker Prince, the Arabian pas de deux and the Snow King in Gerald Arpino's Nutcracker. In Wayne Macgregor's Infra he danced the Ed Watson role and pas de deux. He has also danced In the Night by Jerome Robbins and Ed Liang's Age of Innocence in the Obey Thee pas de deux.
