Ernst Meisner trained at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam and at the Royal Ballet School in London, later dancing with The Royal Ballet and Dutch National Ballet. Mr. Meisner’s career as a choreographer began around 2002 in the workshop programs of the The Royal Ballet. Mr. Meisner was part of the first Rural Rretreat for Future Dance Managers held by DanceEast, England in 2008 and was awarded a six-week placement shadowing Ted Brandsen, Artistic Director of Dutch National Ballet. Mr. Meisner’s awards include the Eurovision Grand Prix for Young Dancers, representing The Netherlands (1999), and he is the recipient of the Incentive Award at the Danserfonds ’79 (1999). In August 2013, Ernst Meisner ended his dancing career, and was immediately appointed artistic coordinator of the Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company.
