Lisa Pavane trained at The Australian Ballet School and joined The Australian Ballet in 1981, promoted to Principal Artist in 1986. Ms Pavane appeared as a guest artist with Boston Ballet, the Kirov Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, at the Sixth and Seventh WorId Ballet Festivals in Japan and in Budapest with the Munich Staats Oper Ballet. In 1994 Ms Pavene joined English National Ballet as a Senior Principal Ballerina. Following her retirement, Ms Pavene combined the position of Association Administrator with English National Ballet and freelance teacher. In 2007 she joined The Australian Ballet School as a Classical Teacher and in 2008 became the first graduate of The Australian Ballet School's Vocational Graduate Certificate in Elite Ballet Instruction. In 2012 she became Head of Student Training (L5-7) and Academic Studies, was awarded a Churchill Fellowship and gained her Graduate Certificate in Professional Education and Training from Deakin University. At the end of 2012 Ms Pavene was appointed Deputy Director & Head of Academic Studies (L4-7) and in 2015 she began her tenure as Director of The Australian Ballet School.
