Matthew Renko (Soloist) was born in Tampa, Florida and raised in Sumter, South Carolina where he trained at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance. He continued his training at North Carolina School of the Arts under Warren Conover, Kee-Juan Han, and Melissa Hayden. After attending the School of American Ballet summer course in 2003 and 2004, he was asked to stay for the winter term on scholarship. He became an apprentice with New York City Ballet in 2007 and promoted to corps de ballet for the 2008-09 season performing featured roles in Balanchine's The Nutcracker and Robbins's Watermill. Matthew's choreographic credits include the School of American Ballet Student Choreography Workshop and the New York Choreographic Institute. Matthew joined The Suzanne Farrell Ballet in 2009.
