Tamara Rojo

English National Ballet, Artistic Director and Principal

Tamara Rojo trained at the Victor Ullate School in Spain, and in 1994 won a Gold Medal at the International Paris Dance Competition. She danced in the Scottish national ballet before joining the English National Ballet, where she was promoted to Principal within six months. Later, Ms. Rojo also performed with The Royal Ballet as a Principal Dancer. She received numerous awards, including the Benois de la Danse and Critics’ Circle National Dance Award, and has been honored with multiple honors by her home country of Spain, where she is an Adviser to the Superior Council of Artistic Studies. In 2012, Ms. Rojo was appointed Artistic Director of English National Ballet, and she continues performing as Lead Principal with the Company.
