Wendy Perron is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and the author of Through the Eyes of a Dancer, published by Wesleyan University Press in 2013. Ms. Perron graduated from Bennington College in 1969. She began her career in New York as a freelance dancer/choreographer at Dance Theater Workshop. She has danced with the Trisha Brown Dance Company and has studied with Twyla Tharp before forming her own Wendy Perron Dance Company. In 1992 she became the Associate Director of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. In 2000 she earned a master’s degree from Empire State College, and in 2004 joined the staff of Dance Magazine as its Editor-in-Chief. Ms. Perron has taught dance and related studies at Bennington College, Princeton University, NYU, Rutgers, and City College of New York. She currently continues to regularly contribute to Dance Magazine and serve as its Editor-at-Large.
