Koto Ishihara has danced featured or principal roles in Tomasson’s Giselle (Peasant pas de cinq, Solo Wilis), Haffner Symphony, Nutcracker (Queen of the Snow, Sugar Plum Fairy, Grand Pas de Deux Ballerina), Romeo & Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty (Fairy of Tenderness, Fairy of Generosity, Pas de Six/Diamond Fairy, Enchanted Princess/Bluebird), Swan Lake, and 7 for Eight; Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote (Cupid); Balanchine’s Coppélia, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, Diamonds, Serenade, Symphony in Three Movements, and Theme and Variations; Cranko’s Onegin; Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude; Lifar’s Suite en Blanc; Makarova’s (after Petipa) “The Kingdom of the Shades” from La Bayadère, Act II; Nureyev’s Raymonda—Act III; Possokhov’s Firebird, RAkU, The Rite of Spring, and Swimmer; and Wheeldon’s Cinderella and Rush. She created roles in Bubeníček’s Fragile Vessels, King’s The Collective Agreement, Lopez Ochoa’s Guernica, and Millepied’s The Chairman Dances—Quartet for Two. Her repertory includes Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15, The Four Temperaments, Symphony in C, and Theme and Variations; Forsythe’s Artifact Suite; Liang’s Symphonic Dances; McGregor’s Borderlands and Chroma; Possokhov’s Classical Symphony; Ratmansky’s Shostakovich Trilogy; Robbins’ Glass Pieces; Scarlett’s Frankenstein and Hummingbird; Tomasson’s The Fifth Season and Trio; and Wheeldon’s Continuum, Ghosts, and Within the Golden Hour.

Koto’s guest performances include “A Golden Celebration of Dance” in Chicago in November 2017; Nutcracker with various companies; and galas in Puerto Rico and Malaysia. She danced in the film of Tomasson’s Romeo & Juliet (Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance).

In 2010 Koto received a silver medal at Tanzolymp International Dance Festival.
