The Brazilian dancer Daniel Camargo took his first ballet lessons in his homeland Brazil. He was discovered at the Youth America Grand Prix (2005), after which he went on to train at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. In 2009, Camargo joined Stuttgarter Ballett, where he was promoted to principal dancer in 2013. With Stuttgarter Ballett, he danced leading roles in ballets by John Cranko, Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine, Maurice Béjart, Kenneth MacMillan, Glen Tetley and Hans van Manen. New works were created on him by such renowned choreographers as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Wayne McGregor, Jorma Elo and Marco Goecke.

In 2015, Daniel Camargo made his debut with Dutch National Ballet as a guest artist in The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Since the 2016/2017 season, he has been a principal dancer with our company. In 2009, he received the European Most Promising Award from the European Cultural Foundation (ECF). In 2010, Camargo won the German dance prize the Future Award. In 2011, along with his dance partner Elisa Badenes, he was awarded the audience prize at The Erik Bruhn Prize competition in Toronto, Canada, and in 2017 he won the European dance award the Positano Premia la Danza Léonide Massine.
