Jason Beechey trained at Canada’s National Ballet School, Vaganova Ballet Academy and the School of American Ballet. He began his career as a soloist with the London City Ballet, then danced with Charleroi/Danses in Belgium, where he was also a Training Director for the National Choreographic Centre Charleroi/Danses. Mr. Beechey later founded his own studio in Brussels, “The Loft” and created the D.A.N.C.E. Programme, collaborating with William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Frédéric Flamand and Angelin Preljocaj. In 2006 he joined the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden as Rector, initiating the Apprentice Programme with the Semperoper Ballet and Tanzplan Dresden, and building a global network of exchange programs and partner schools. Mr. Beechey is the first speaker of the AKT Conference (Ausbildung Konferenz Tanz), which unites the ten professional dance training Institutions of Germany. He regularly serves as a Jury Member for Youth America Grand Prix and Prix de Lausanne.
