YAGP Overview

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) was founded in 1999 by two former Bolshoi Ballet dancers, Larissa and Gennadi Saveliev. Our mission is to support and develop world-class dancers ages 9 to 19 of all economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds serving as the global network of dance, connecting students, teachers, schools, dancers, dance companies, and audiences. Since its inception, over 80,000 dancers have participated in YAGP’s workshops, scholarship auditions, and master classes worldwide. YAGP has facilitated over $3.5 million in scholarships to the world’s leading dance schools and over 450 YAGP alumni are now dancing with 80 companies around the world.

Gala Overview

Every April, YAGP transforms New York City into the undisputed capital of the dance world as we welcome more than 1,200 of the most promising young dancers from around the world to Finals Week. The week of scholarship auditions and master classes culminates in a celebration of YAGP’s global network of dance with the annual Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow Gala at the David H. Koch Theater on April 19, 2018. YAGP will present an evening of thrilling performances by leading dancers from the most prominent companies (Stars of Today), many of whom are YAGP alumni, dancing alongside finalists in the 2018 YAGP scholarship auditions (Stars of Tomorrow). Immediately following the performance, guests will enjoy a glamorous and fun night of dinner, dancing, and celebration on the Promenade.
