Tara Mitton Catao is a recognized educator and an award-winning choreographer. She has performed with the companies of Agnes de Mille, Paul Sanasardo, and Rudy Perez, among others. Ms. Catao has been on the faculties of the London Contemporary School of Dance, the Gus Giordano Dance Center, and the Ruth Page Foundation School of Ballet. In 1981, Ms. Catao founded the Chicago Repertory Dance Ensemble, with which she has toured extensively around the world. In 1994 she joined The Harid Conservatory as a resident choreographer and Contemporary Dance faculty member. She currently serves as the Harid’s official Recruitment Coordinator. In addition to choreographing for schools across the U.S., Ms. Catao also enjoys a career as a freelance writer and a dance critic for the Palm Beach Art Paper.
